Will a new GPU fit your PC?
Four checks to make before you place an order.
Measure the available space
Look up the exact card length, height and slot thickness. Compare these with your case manual and any front radiator, fans or drive cages. Allow space around the power connector for the manufacturer’s cable-routing requirements.
Check power and connectors
Use the GPU manufacturer’s full-system power recommendation as a starting point. Confirm that your PSU has the required cables and supports the card. Never mix modular PSU cables from different models unless the PSU manufacturer explicitly confirms compatibility.
Plan for airflow
A powerful graphics card needs cool intake air and a clear exhaust path. Consider how its cooler works in your case and whether adjacent expansion cards will block airflow.
Confirm display connections
Check your monitor’s ports, cable capabilities and intended resolution and refresh rate. Before swapping cards, follow the hardware manufacturer’s installation instructions and install the appropriate official graphics driver.
